Holla friends!
In my previous article, I wrote about why students fall in the ATKT trap. If you’re here, I am sure you are waiting to get some solid tips on how to avoid getting a KT and pass with flying colors!!
Read on to get some powerful tips and save your precious hours not studying the same subjects again in the subsequent semesters-
1. Set a Routine
I cannot exaggerate the importance of setting a certain number of hours aside daily for studies. It’s also called, in simple terms, being regular. Set an hour or two, every day from your first day of college dedicated to studying the points covered in your lectures or for self studies. And two hours every day from 24 hours is hardly anything, but you will realize its benefits at the end of the semester. You get the rest of the 22 hours for fun and frolic!
2. Discipline
So you have set 2 hours aside, what’s important now is to put your head down in a book and study with focus and perseverance in this dedicated time slot. It is discipline that is going to help you follow through your commitments, nothing else. Be disciplined every day and you shall see yourself cruising through the university final exams. Once you are in a flow state of studying, it’s a cinch.
3. Solving past years’ university question papers
If you are a Mumbai University student, you will realize that many repeat questions are asked in every subject question paper from the previous years (unless you belong to the first batch where the syllabus has changed and you need to read through the entire text books :P ). See to it that you are thorough with the answers of previous years question papers. Statistics show that repeat questions cover 20% to 80% (sometimes) of the question papers every year. You don't want to miss on the easy bite, do you?
4. Making notes
One of the best ways to score in the University exams is by having your own hand-made notes made during college days, as and when syllabus is covered in the classroom. Notes help you in the following way-
-For a quick revision before exams
-To remember better with varied colors and shades
-Save your last minute time searching for answers in the bulky reference books
-Give you confidence!
Although making notes is time consuming and needs more efforts than text book reading, I’m sure once you have these subject and topic-wise notes made for yourself, they will help you throughout the semester-in vivas, term tests and final papers, and maybe in the final year placements too!
So, you do these four, and see for yourself how much ahead you stand in the crowd. A little effort from now on, and no regrets later. Happy studying! :)
