Optical gain in the laser diode is given by,

$ \Gamma g_{\mathrm{th}}=10+\frac{1}{2 \times\left(500 \times 10^{-4}\right)} \ln \left(\frac{1}{0.32 \times 0.32}\right)\\ $

$ \Gamma g_{\text {th }}=33.7 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}\\ $
