The RFID architecture is based on Transponder, Interrogates & back end Server.
This tag will communicate with the readers by using magnetic & electric field.
The readers will transfer the information to the edge servers in order to be processed.
Finally the edge servers can be connected to integration servers in order to apply business rules & communicate with other companies &intuitions.
For passive tag the magnetic field is more reliable for powering them but has a limited range of action.
Electric filed present a greater range reader tends to be less effective in the obstacles.
Active tags can reach a range up to 12m or more but they are more expensive compared to the passive or semi-passive tags.
There are three different types of readers hand held, fixed & mobile.
They support different connection interfaces that include Ethernet to wireless links.
On the server side all information collected from the reader is processed & interpreted following the application rules.
Four main layer the basic activities performed:-
The1st layer deals with the reader discovery process.
The 2nd layer deals with the date captured by the interrogator.
Then actions are taken regarding the information gathered in the 3rd layer.
The 4th layer provides an interface to manage the information business rules & sessions among other functionalities.
