• The statement is false. Spark plugs and exhaust valves are located close together inside combustion chamber of spark ignition engine.
• This is a design feature consideration for SI engines.
• The exhaust valve should be located close to the spark plug so that it is not in the end gas region otherwise there will be a tendency to knock.
• This is because if the flame travel is more, the tendency of knocking is also more.
