Project execution phase is usually the longest phase in the project life cycle. Project Execution is the phase in the project life cycle when the work is performed, and everything in the project plan is put into action.
Project execution means that the project team is rolling up their sleeves and taking action on everything they outlined in their project plan. The steps during project execution changes depending on the specific requirements of the project. Many projects team's think execution phase is easy but in most cases many teams struggle in execution phase. The best way for teams to be proactive about project execution is to anticipate potential problems before they have a chance to snowball.
Activities continued under project execution phase are as follows:
- Project manager arries out all the planned activities, constructs deliverables, and presents them to project stakeholders.
- Project manager focus on changes to performing and supervising all activities to create deliverables as outlined in the project plan.
- Project manager need to continuously track the project’s progress and ensure that the milestones and deliverables stick to the project schedule.
- Project manager need to step back a bit and let your team carry out the project plan.
