Steps to follow for decision-making process in Project Management are as follows:
1) Identify the problem: The first step is to identify the problem. Problem can be identified by conducting meeting among project team.
2) Gather information: All the information related to the specific problem should be obtained and documented for further procedures. Project team members can play a vital role in obtaining the information.
3) Analyze the situation: After gathering the the information the information should be properly viewed, studied and the situation should be properly analysed before talking any specific action.
4) Develop options: Here developing options means creating alternative or multiple solutions of the particular problem. Generating different options can be very useful in Projects.
5) Evaluate alternatives: After finding different options those options needed to be evaluated. Evaluation should be done on basis of feasibility, acceptability, and desirability related to the project.
6) Select a preferred alternative: A proper and well defined alternative should be chosen by considering all the future possibilities and Risks.
7) Act on the decision: Last step is to implement the decision. Project managers should look into that the decision is accepted by all the project members.
