Single token operation	Mulitoken operation	Single frame operation
Free token is inserted after the last bit of busy token is received back and last bit in the frame is transmitted.	Free token is transmitted immediately after the last bit of the data frame.	Free bit is inserted after the transmitting station has received the last bit of its own.
Since only one token is present at a time on the ring, recovery from errors in token becomes easy.	It will allow more than one frames to travel simultaneously in different parts of ring.	Transmitting station is allowed to check the return frame for errors.
Single token operations are carried.	Multitoken operations are carried.	Single frame operations are carried.
