Electronic waste describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. Electronic waste including scrap components such as CRTs may contain contaminants like lead, cadmium, and beryllium or brominated flame retardants.
E-Pollution is the contamination of the environment due to the accumulation, storage, processing, dismantling and recycling of unusable electronic goods containing various hazardous chemical substances.
When electronic items are discarded, they form E-Waste which causes E-Pollution.
Hazardous chemical found in large quantities in E-Wastes include epoxy resins, fibreglass, PCBs, PVC (polyvinyl chlorides), thermosetting plastics, lead, tin, copper, silicon, beryllium, carbon, iron and aluminium.
