The full wave rectifier configuration consists of a step down centre tapped transformer T1, two diodes and a purely resistive load RL. In the HWR the load current flows in only one half cycle of the supply but in the full wave rectifier it flows in both half cycles of AC supply.

The induced voltages in the two halves of the secondary winding are always 180° out of phase with respect which each other.
