The polarisation density of dielectric is proportional to effective value of electric field E and it is given by:
$P=ε_0 χ_e E$.....(1)Where χe is constant of proportionality and is known as susceptiblity of dielectric material
To see the connection between the dielectric constant and the polarization we perform an experiment. We charge up the Capacitor in vacuum.
