Natural rubber consists of basic material latex, which a dispersion of isoprene
Natural rubber is made from the saps of a wide range of plants like havea brasillians and gauyule, found in tropical and semi-tropical countries.
The rubber latex is obtained by making incisions in the bark of the rubber trees and allowing the saps to flow out into small vessels.
Drawbacks:
Natural rubber does not perform well when exposed to chemicals and petroleum derivatives, including petrochemicals
It is not recommended for outdoor applications where maximum resistance to sunlight, ozone or hear aging is major factor
Its plasticity is greater than elasticity. It cannot sustain stress. Thus, when stretched to a great extent, it undergoes deformation permanently.
It has large water absorption tendency, which makes it weak.
