JET CEMENT (REGULATED SET CEMENT)

Regulated set cement was invented at the Portland Cement Association (USA) in the early 1970s; however, the main development work occurred in Japan, where it is known as Jet cement. resistance of concretes made with Jet cement could be improved by blending with fly ash.

Two type of jet cement having different retarders were investigated. Both physical properties such as mechanical strength,pore size , distribution and porosity and chemical process of hydration such as the rate of hydration and kind of hydrate produce upon hardening of jet cement are strongly affected by the method of regulation of setting.
