SNMP VI commands -

1. SNMPget command - This command returns on administratively assigned name for the managed node. By comention, this is the nodes fully - qualified domain name. if the name is unknown, the volume returned is the zero length string.

2. SNMPwalk command - This command performs a sequence of chained GETNEXT requests automatically. 'It is a work saving command. Instead of having to issues a series of sap get next requests, one for each object ID or node in a subtree, one sampwalk request on the root node of the subtree and the command gets the value of every node in the subtree.

3. SNMPbulkwalk command - The snmpbulkwalk command uses the GETBULK SNMP protocol feature to query for an entire tree of info avoid a n/w entity. this command can pack more objects into the pockets by specifying "repeaters". Hence it is faster then snmpwalk command.

4. SNMPtable command - It retrieves the contents of an SNMP to use and displays the content in a tabular format, one table row at a time such that resulting o/p resembles the table being retrieved.

5. SNMPset command - It writes the value specified to the objects ID. It is necessary to specify the data type of object ID is SNMPSET command because SNMP objects support more then one data type.

6. SNMP TRAP D command - It is an SNMP application that receives and logs SNMP Trap and inform messages before the system can receive such messages it must be configured with trap daemon to listen for these messages.
