If OA rotates at 200 rpm in clockwise direction, find the velocity of slider D by

Solution :

OA = 300 mm

AB= 600 mm

AC=BD= 1.2 m

$\omega=200 ~rpm=2094 ~rad/s $

1) Relative Velocity Method

By velocity relative Method

The velocity of slider D = 2.04 m/s

2) Instantaneous Centre Method

The velocity of slider D is same as that of angular velocity of link OA

$\therefore V_D= \omega $ or $V_D=\omega (I_{12}I_{25})$

$\qquad\space =2094 ~mm/s$

$\qquad\space =2.094 ~m/s$
