1) With the increase in requirement of control engineering, there exists a need for advances in technology.
2) Adaptive control and optimization are ways in which, system response can be made more efficient and robust.
3) A process for continual review and improvement of how you take a decision, allows the system to respond in a better manner to parameter variations and disturbances.
4) This in turn results in smaller errors and better accuracy.
5) It also improves the overall performance of the system.
