A ship can be propelled in water by using the basic principles of jet propulsion. The system consists of an arifice installed at the rear of the ship. The water from sea is taken into with the help of a centrifugal pump which is supplied and discharged through the Orifice in the form of jet. it exerts a reactive force on the ship according to Newton's third law of motion. As a result, the reactive force is used to propel the ship in the forward direction

The water from the sea by jump can be taken in the following two eays

1) Through inlet orifices which are at right angles to the direction of motion of the ship

2)Through the inlet orifices which forces the direction of motion of the ship
