A reversible heat engine operated with two environments. In the first, it draws 12000 kW ,

from a source at 400°C and in the second, it draws 25000 kW from a source at 100°C. In both the operations, the engine rejects heat to a thermal sink at 20°C. Determine the operation in which the engine delivers more power.

We can see in the following figures that the reversible engine I is operated between source temperature 400o C and sink temperature 20 o C and during which it draws 12000 kW of heat from source.

While in reversible engine II, it is operated between the Source temperature 100 o C and sink temperature 20 o C and absorbs 25000 kW of heat from source.

We will now calculate the work output of two reversible engines;

Using Carnot Efficiency formula
