Water is flowing under a width and height of 0.4m through soil A and B of different permeability, as shown in figure.

The coefficient of permeability of soil A, is 4.5*10_{-2}m/s if 37.5% of head is lost in flowing through soil A find the flow velocity and permeability of soil B.

Total head loss, h=0.4m = 40cm

$h_A = 0.15m = 15cm$

$h_B = 0.4 0.15 = 25cm$

$L_B = 20cm$, & $L_A = 30cm$

$V_A = V_B = V = K_A * L_A = K_B i_B$

$V = 2.25 * 10^{-2} cm/s$

$K_B = \frac{V}{i_B}$

$K_B = 1.8 * 10^{-2} cm/s$
