Grout is any any flow able plastic or pack able material that can be used to fill the space between under side of ma-chins or column and foundation on which the unit to rest then harden these support the unit.

In addition to these principle role they also wide use in the repair in deteriorated structure

Grout classification

1) Nominal cement/ sand mixture.

2) Gas foaming agent

3) Mettalic aggregate grout

4) Fibre reinforced grout.

5) Organic resin grout

Objective

1) Filling void to prevent excessive settlement

2) To increase allowable pressure of soil both for new structure or addition to existing structure.

3) Control at ground water flow.

4) Ground movement control during tunneling operation.

5) Prevention of loose to medium sand desertification under adjacent structure ( both for vertical and lateral movement) due to adjacent excavation pile driving etc.

6) Slope stabilization.

7) Foundation under piling.

8) Soil strengthening to increase lateral and vertical resin of pile.

Procedure

1) From top to down

2) From up to down

From top to down

1) Drill hole to top at zone (min 15m)

2) Insert the casing in the hole and fill the hole space between the casing and the hole with quick setting cement.

3) Drill through tie costing and advance the hole 1-2.5m never exceed 3-3.5m

4) Pump in ground until there is refusal or slight movement at ground surface.

5) Repeat the procedure at step 3&4 after hardening of previously placed ground until the bottom of the zone to be stabilized is reached.

From up to top

1) Drill the hole to the bottom of the zone to be stabilized.

2) Place casing in within a meter of bottom of the hole the casing should be snug fit. And may required pushing and driving into place sometime it is driven entirely ( predrilling estimated)

3) Pump in the grout until refusal is achiever or slight.

4) Raise the casing.

5) Pump again and repeat 4 and 5 step until the ground surface is reached.
