Chloride content can be determine by collecting broken sample or from core samples. The test consist of powdering the sample, obtaining the water extract and conducting standard tit ration experiment to determine the water solution chloride content.
Test consist of obtaining powder sample by drilling, collecting the sample for different depth (every 5pm), mixing the sample ( of about 1.5gm weight) with special chloride extraction liquid and measuring the electrical potential of the liquid by chloride -ion sensitivity electrode.with the help of calibration graph relating electrical potential and chloride content the chloride content of sample can be directly determined.
Below table give qualitative guideline for identification of corrosion prone location based on PH value and chloride content.
Advanced equipment
The protoscope and chloride field system allow the users to rapidly evaluate mechanism the cause corrosion the protoscope quickly and simply evaluate concrete permeability. The chloride field system is rapidly evaluate field chloride level without expensive and time consuming laboratory test.
Features
1) Fast-result within minute at the site
2) Economical- low cost per sample compare to laboratory testing.
3) Cover wide range from 0.002% to 2% chloride weight.
4) Automatic compensation for change in ambient temperature.
5) Digital display for direct reading lbs/cu.yd and percentage of chloride by weight.
