• The Intel 8288 is a bus controller designed for Intel 8086/8087/8088/8089.
• The available in 20-pin DIP package.
• When 8086 (and 8088) operate in maximum mode necessary control signals are generated by the 8288. For interfacing memory and I/O devices in the maximum mode.
• The minimum mode signals, INTA, ALE, DEN, DT/ IT, M/ 10 WR , HLDA, and HOLD (on pins 24 to 31) that pins are essential for interfacing memory and I/O devices, are not available in the system if the 8086 is operated in maximum mode.
Provides the signals eliminated from the 8086/8088 by the maximum mode operation.
