The carbon nanotube is a seamless tube made by rolling up polyaromatic sheet called graphene and closed at one or both ends by fullerene hemispheres. Single walled carbon nanotubes are individual cylinders of diameter about 1-2 nanometer. Multiwall carbon tubes are composed of a number of concentric tubes of graphene nested inside each other.

Properties of carbon nanotube: The strength to weight ratio of carbon nanotube is highest.

The materials made using CNT are very strong, lightweight transparent and electrically conducting.

They are not brittle and regains the original shape when the deformation force is removed.
