Nowadays, concrete pumps are used for placing the concrete accurately & in continuous flow directly from the truck mixer on the column or section of the building, tunnels, subways, underwater works,etc.
In concrete pump, pumping is done by means of 2 parallel long stroke cylinder systems. Each cylinder is hardened and connected to distribution pipe.
Each cylinder system has two valves on the suction side located at the bottom of the hopper and the other on the discharge side, controlling the concrete entering to the distribution pipe.
The opening & closing of the valve is timed with respect to the movement of the piston.
The two cylinders are timed in such a way so that when one cylinder has suction another has discharge stroke
