A folded dipole antenna consists of two parallel dipole connected at the ends forming a narrow wire loop.

The length of dipole L, separation between dipole is d which is much smaller than L and λ.

Properties:

  • It has high input impedance as compared to half wave dipole.
  • It increate the band width as antenna which is very essential FM and TV application.

Application:

  • TV
  • FM broadcast band receiving antenna.
