Assuming Ds = Number of redundant force R

ΔL1 $= ∫ Mxx * M1 dx/EI \\ = ∫0-4 (-5X²) * (+X) dx / EI + ∫0-5 (-20X – 80 ) dx / EI \\ = - 2920 / EI$

δ11 $= ∫ M1 M1 dx / EI \\ = ∫0 -4 ( X )² dx/EI + ∫0-5 ( 4 )² dx / EI \\ = 101.33 / EI$

Actual displacement at redundant = 0

[ D ] = [ ΔL1 ] + δ11 * R1

0 = - 2920 / EI + 101.33 / EI * R1

R1 = 2920 / 101.33 = 28.21 KN
