The psychological state of the receiver will influence how the message is received. Every person has his own way of looking at the world, at people, at events and situations. No two persons possess accurately similar frames of reference. Some of psychological barriers are as follows:
Halo effect:
Halo effect is tendency to overrate a person good in all the fields because he is good in one of the fields. Persons suffering from the halo effect welcome ideas and suggestions from only those people, who they like the most and thereby reject ideas of others. This delimits their chances of communication with new people. Many bosses possess halo effect. They favour some employees all the time because they are good in one of the field.
Horns effect:
Horns effect is tendency to underestimate and dislike a person because he is not good in one of the fields. Horns effect blocks the possibility of communication between individuals because they dislike each other.
