• The high-level network architecture of LTE is comprised of following three main components

  • The User Equipment

  • The Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN)

  • The Evolved Packet Core (EPC)

• The evolved packet core communities with packet data networks in the outside world such as the internet, provide corporate networks or the IP multimedia subsystem

• The interfaces between the different parts of the system are denoted Uu, SI and SGi
