Need for modulation

1. The baseband transmission has many limitations which can be overcome using modulation.
2. In the process of modulation, the baseband signal is translated shifted from the ow frequency to the high frequency
3. The frequency shift is proportional to the frequency of carrier
4. There is reduction in the height of the antenna
5. It avoids mixing of the signals
6. Increases the range of communication
7. Multiplexing is possible
8. Improves quality of reception
