Test is performed on LV side reaping HV side open circuited.

All the meters Viz ammeter, voltmeter & wattmeter are connected on LV side.

Reading of V1, I0 and W1 are recorded

I0 is no load primary current & V1 is open circuit voltage at LV side,

W1= V1 I0 cos ø0

cos ø0= W1/ V1 I0

Iw= I0 cos ø0 ; Iμ= I0 sin ø0

$Rw=\dfrac{V_1}{I_w}$ , $\hspace{2cm}$ $Xm=\dfrac{V_1}{I_μ}$
